Celtic Illumination, a history of how it started at the beginning

Celtic Knot Candles; a History.

Or how to become a master candle maker.

It was about half past four o clock in the afternoon.

I was injecting cocaine directly into my eyeballs, no; sorry, I wasn’t.  I was having a cup of tea.  A cup of tea, and probably a biscuit.  I like biscuits especially plain ones.  So, I was having a cup of tea and a biscuit.  I was not injecting cocaine directly into my eyeballs, I mean, who injects cocaine at half past four in the afternoon?

Anyway, where was I?  Oh yes.  I was making patterns with this white powder.  The sugar I had spilled on the table.  I’m not a heathen.  I make sure that I am wearing evening dress, and I mean tails with white tie, not a skirt.  So I’m properly dressed, at the table, having a cup of tea and a biscuit when I had an idea.

I thought wouldn’t it be fantastic if I made a candle with a 10mm deep Celtic knot running all the way around it!

I know, it’s amazing the sort of ideas you can have when you are not injecting cocaine into your eyeballs.

So; that’s what I did.

About celticillumination

Celtic Illumination produces unique Celtic themed candles/craic pots and Tartan Candles. It is (as far as we can tell) the only company in the world to produce 'real' Tartan candles. Most tartan candles are plain candles with a tartan sticker applied. These Tartan Candles have a Tartan pattern run all the way through the candle. Rather than the old adage of "pile it high and sell it cheap" Celtic Illumination does not import in bulk from Asia, or anywhere else for that matter. instead of filling a whiskey glass or tea cup, with wax and adding a wick, we have created something Celtic. Hand made, hand finished, from scratch in our workshop. Even the Celtic Knot range of candles are made from scratch in our workshop, Each candle has a 10mm deep Celtic knot that runs all the way around the candle, other companies stick their Celtic knots on with glue or something similar. Celtic Illumination claim to be the best candle company in the world and they probably are.
